women draw on cultural traditions and spiritual power to resist
colonization and challenge systems of domination. Featured women
include Kimba Vita (Congo), Maria Candelaria (Chiapas), Queen Nanny of
the Maroons (Jamaica), Toypurina (Tongva Nation, California), Lozen
(Apache Nation), and more.

manhood in rap and hip-hop. Using interviews with performers and fans,
the film explores misogyny, violence, and homophobia in the hip hop
world and the complex intersections of culture, commerce, and gender.
