Recent arrestee Juan Ruiz, a Colombian citizen, goes up before a judge on Thursday, November 15th, and is in serious need of our support, both emotionally and financially. Facing deportation and a 30,000 dollar bail, he has yet to be released to see family and friends, and has spent all of his time in solitary confinement. A support group has formed to raise money for his legal defense; checks can be made out and sent to the "GDC Legal Defense Fund," P.O. Box 2442, Madison, WI 53701. Additionally, the Anti-Authoritarian People of Color Caucus will be collecting money to go toward Juan's defense at the Convergence at the School of the Americas on Saturday, November the 17th, in Columbus, Georgia.
