McALLEN: Student/Farmworker Alliance Fundraiser

PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY!

The Student/Farmworker Alliance - ATX needs you... And your stuff!

Sunday morning, Oct. 21st, we will host a garage sale at 1604 E. 11th
Street to help raise much-needed funds for our work in alliance with
the Coalition of Immokalee Workers. If you have any items you'd like
to donate to the garage sale, please let us know. Our success depends
in large part on your generosity. We can arrange a time to pick
items up on Saturday, October 20th or you can drop them off at 1604
E. 11th Street on that day as well. Please contact
sean@sfalliance.org for details.

And stay tuned for a round of exciting SFA events in late October
including a Burger King protest, a youth concert, campus
presentations, and a dynamic multimedia/cultural event!

About Us:

Student/Farmworker Alliance (SFA) is a national network of students
and youth organizing with farmworkers to eliminate sweatshop
conditions and modern-day slavery in the fields. We work in alliance
with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, a membership-led
organization of mostly Latino, Haitian, and Mayan Indian low-wage
immigrant workers based in Southwest Florida. Together we won the
four-year Taco Bell Boycott in 2005 and McDonald's campaign in 2007.
We're building on these victories by taking on Miami-based Burger
King to address human rights violations in its tomato supply chain.
Our work in Austin began in 2001, making us one of the longest-active
cities in the SFA network.
